Don’t get a dark color, it will make it hot!
I’m inheriting my dad’s boat still going through a lot of paperwork and legal stuff. Anyways just wondering if anyone has ripped up carpet and put in bed liner on their boat. Was talking to my neighbor and he mentioned some stuff called lizard skin. I’m just worried about adding bunch of weight to boat.

I would think that removing the carpet will take weight out versus the paint/bed liner. I've never done it, but have been in boats with it, and it would be the only way for any future boat for me. Good luck! Share some pictures if you make it happen. You can probably find some instructional videos on youtube.
I’m looking at sea dek but I agree don’t go with a dark color.

Check with Jennifer at Jody's bait shop (bobby brown park rd. in Elberton). They install flooring kinda like Sea Deck but I believe its a different brand. They do some purdy work. Even if you don't get the work done there she can answer some of your questions on weight and such.
Like Dallas said, don't go dark as it'll get hot in the sun and burn your feet!![]()

Don, A.K.A. Sinkermaker, sent me a quart of Tuff Coat to try. It was not the color for my boat but I did make a step from the front deck to the floor of the boat and painted it with this Tuff Coat. It's paint with rubber particles in it. It has held up real well so far and I wouldnt be scared to paint my whole floor of my boat with it. It's a little expensive but you want something that will stay there when you paint it on. You can look it up on Amazon...
