Well , Amazon was taking too long to ship my latest Major Craft order , so I cancelled it and ordered a Graywolf 4’11” UL fiberglass rod .
It took less than fifteen minutes and I received an email confirming my order with a tracking number.
I’m excited.
This will have to be my last rod order for this year.

Tracking says “ out for delivery “
Tried to fish a little this morning. When I arrived, the docks were full with full of folks . I don’t care for competition.
Decided to wait on my new rod to be delivered instead.

I was never a fan of pistol grip rods, but I absolutely love a short butt section. I hate it when you check a 6' and a 6'6" rod and the rods are exactly the same from the grip forward and all the extra length is in the butt. I had a Leland TCB (a fine rod) but it had that issue. Honestly that issue was one of the primary reasons that I got into making my own rods. It also one of the reasons I really like these Daiwa Trout X rods I have.

I waited all day for UPS for my delivery that never showed.
Tracking changed at 8:48 pm that the label is eligible and needs to be confirmed so the package can be delivered.
BS . I also had an order from Amazon that was shipped by UPS .
Strangely that one also is delayed.
Guess the driver couldn’t finish his route today . So they made up a lie about my rod .

What are your thoughts on your new rod? Thinking of getting a glass rod but scared they are a little whippy for my taste. Used to have a Shakespeare Wonder rod that I inherited from my dad but now I can't find it. Think I gave it to one of the grandkids. Like short handle rods. My 7' Soare handle is 9 3/4" long. First thing I look at is handle length on a rod.
Just received the rod yesterday and haven’t fished it yet .
After putting the three sections together and adding a small 500 reel , I gave a it a few wiggle checks and this isn’t like the fiberglass glass rods we grew up on .
First it’s light . And when I pull on the line , it has a nice parabolic bend to it . Not whippy and seems to have quick recovery.
I made a couple of driveway casts with it and it casts a small jig pretty good .
I’ll get a chance to fish it for about forty minutes today and hopefully I can catch something on it .
The jig I have tied on today is a 3mm Tungsten bead jig on a size 14 hook , tied with olive chenille body and a dark olive rabbit zonker fur tail.
I can usually only cast these about 15-20 feet . But I’m wanting to catch “something” . Not concerned with the size .
That’s if there’s still water under the docks at my local reservoir. Without rain and all of this heat , evaporation and folks watering their lawns are draining the lake fairly quick .
