Sounds interesting. Good job. Thanks for sharing.
This is the story, and I'm sticking to it. I watched a video, a while back, about some english fellow catching carp using a long pole. So I thought I might try to copy it and catch some crappie. I used a telesopic rod, cut of the end, put on a bushing and then threaded the pole with elastic line. At the end I put on a bead, tied some line to it. On the other end I attached what they called an end bung to pull the elastic when the fish took out the line. Well I tried, and I tried, but nothing would bite. Till this morning I went out to the little lake I fish at and fished from the bank. I caught a small perch first, it couldn't stretch the elastic. Then another perch and still did not stretch the elastic. At last a bass attacked and it did pull out the elastic. I used the end bung and pulled the eleastic (kind of like fly fishing) and got em in. It was a different way to catch. And I might try it out of the boat next time. And fish deeper. But that's the story. Plus this is my 1000th post. I was holding off till I had some news.

That is interesting, so is it similar to like what I’ve seen people using ice fishing, self setting hooks except you’re holding the pole instead of preloaded at the hole. I think they call them slingshots, don’t know never ice fished.
