You need to get a DVA on it and check stator, trigger, and power back output. There's no other way to accurately diagnose CDI ignition.
CDI electronics has a PDF manual with all of the voltage specs.
I have an 86 90 hp mariner tower of power that last weekend when we were fishing I went to go from trolling to move and when I dumped the throttle it would not go over 2000 rpm and 4ish mph. I did some testing and found I lost spark on cylinders 1 3 5. I decided since this is 34 years old I would replace the stator trigger and both switch boxes. It fired up easier than ever on muffs. Now I have no spark on cylinder 2 with the new electrical hardware. I am open to suggestions. I swapped plug wires and it made no difference. I also got a used good coil from boat shop and he said he doubted that would fix my problem I think this is intermittent With timing light hooked up it sometimes flashes but not consistently.
I swapped stator back and got spark back on all cylinders. Still no power I dont think it is fuel because I rebuilt pump a couple years ago and when you choke it when wfo it about kills it. Any ideas greatly appreciated

X2, about stator ✔. But no fire. You did eliminate , rectifier/ regulator?
CDI has been hacked does anyone have the voltages etc? The motor runs has no power. what I got is
red wire idle 79vdc 3000rpm 267
red/white 75 vdc 250
blue 274 300
blue/white 350 330
the old trigger bench tested good about to test the replacement but Looking at the bl/wh lead I am guessing its no good
How are you testing for spark?
I'd rather be fishing.
Are you using a peak reading multimeter or a DVA? A regulator meter will not work.
I can not find the CDI manual, but did find this.

Okay so I took it to a marine mechanic and he said I had a bad trigger. I had replaced it but I know You get bad part. I ordered a CDI one this afternoon. He charged me $50 to diagnose and If he had the parts I would of paid him to do it. I had a laugh there was another "car" mechanic there picking up his boat that had him stumped.
Glad I am not the only one that pulls hair out. He had a $600 tri-hull with a friggin Ultrex he put on it.
getting pissed put a CDI trigger on it and still nothing on cylinder 2. no way I have had 2 new bad ones. no voltage coming from trigger on cylinder 2. I am out of ideas at this point. all other cylinders operating as they should just #2 cylinder no spark. it fires with 5 and that is firing right along no problems.
