Good job figuring out the preferred presentation. After all it's about the KABOOM!
those of you that enjoy LS or FFS or whatever the newest name is on them units , know full well where I am going with this info.
I watched it happen hundreds of times and there is a time of year for it ......
that time of year is NOW !
pitch it out and let it fall back to ya .....dink
drop it straight down and hold it still ....dink
drag it thru the water at various depths ....dink
twitch it around a bit .....dink
BUT , drop it ever so slowly to almost on the bottom
AND raise it EVEN ever MORE so slowly and ....
K A B O O M !
when employing this presentation, you must move the jig very steadily and VERY slowly and do not twitch it or let it fall back, and from about on the bottom to the top ....
they often don't take it until it is about time to put it back down , as in you see the jig on the surface .....
does color matter you might ask , no clue , used a garage rod that was in the truck from the weekend that never got taken out and it had a wore out looking handtie on it since years ago best I can remember
dint keep none , but the bite was solid and the fish were good size and the black crappie were doing EXACTLY what the white crappie were doing side by side in them boat slips ...
managed to ketch 39 crappie on my lunch break and wasted about half the hour trying to decide if there were any worth ketchn under me ....
about half dinks and half keepers ,,,,took me a bit to exhaust my arsenal of what they want EXACTLY .....
not a dink one bit on the EVER so slowly presentation , just all the others , go figure .....
on yet another side note : my attire may have had some play in it,
had a crappie.com ballcap and t-shirt too, on board ...
and in the end as you might have figured out by now
KABOOM is still the word![]()

Yes, presentation is key. I've watched people livescoping in areas when I pulled cranks this weekend, and it didn't seem that they had any success. I turned on my livescope on Saturday only to confirm what I was seeing on 2D about fish suspension, and I didn't even turn it on Sunday.

On my last trip , fishing close to the bottom was a guaranteed way to catch a cat.![]()

I’ll have to give this a shot when I can get back out jigging. Thanks for sharing

those with LS have seen it happen over and over again , crappie often rise timidly to a bait and switch gears if it EVER SO SLOWLY tries to creep up up and away from them , instead of the ole lose interest version when the jig holds still and slip away back to where they were before it intruded .....just saying
