    Default Reincarnation you say ?

Is it even possible ? Is there a version of the after life where something comes back as something else ?
Not so sure , but to be very sure , first drop the other day after a few crappie in some brush on the dock I hit , my jig hung up on something ......
thought well by golly this ain't the way it is supposed to happen ....
tried to give it a flick or 2 to come lose ,,,,no luck ,,,,,
said oh well , just break it off and move to the next pile .....
well instead of breaking off , here comes something slowly to me ....
next thing ya know there is a rod tip with my jig in the last eyelet ?
eased it up and low and behold a nice Shake my spear set up ....
looked to be down below about a month or so ....
still had the store zip tie on the reel .....
cork wasn't to bad , reel wasn't corroded and the rod was in good shape as well ...from what I could tell .....bought left it lay there .....then thunk ...
finders keepers , who knows maybe it will reincarnate as a crappie rod ....
it could happen ya know ....will make a great giveaway set up or loner rod maybe ...
took it back to work and gave it the once over ....line still seems ok and FULLY hydrated ,,,,no memeory in that mono line for sure .....
will let it do its thing hopefully later today ....
we shall see if it IS in fact a reincarnated crappie rod ....
second drop was tiny crappie btw .....
the crappie ketchn was just horrible if you must know ....
less than a dozen met my hand and lost several and none was the grande size ...either .....
but get this ....some was almost EXACTLY my shirt crappie.com logo size ....

docks frequently have rod and reel combos near them on the bottom, it amazes me the amount that have come up to me over the years , been on a slower pace than normal though this year , only one so far ....

I have pulled some up from Davy Jones locker in the past. Cleaned one rod up and used it as an industrial bug smasher. Piece of gasket material attached to the end. Sounded like a 22 rifle went off when it smacked the floor or table. Good times and laughter had by all.

the ugly stick i pulled up a few years ago ,that was on the bottom for a zillion years was cleaned up back when H wanted to learn how to ketch crappie
the reel was toast ,but the rod cleaned up like new , one of them short 2 pc. 5 foot versions
H learned to destroy crappie quickly with it on the docks and it "was" his favorite rod until ....
he pulled a bone head with it one day ....got hung up and pointed the rod down when he tried to get his jig back
line snapped and the upper section went right straight DOWN ....
thunk he was gunna cry that day ....made him rather sad for sure

I love finding drowned rods and reels, but they usually are not worth keeping!

most of what I drag up is toasted , if the rod isn't broke ,they tend to be salvageable , but most reels die after a long swim ....
