Good job. Sounds like a fun and enjoyable trip.
I have fished Cane River since the mid 80s. In all those years, I have caught exactly one white perch, and that was an accidental on a slow rolled spinner bait. A friend of mine has a camp there, and in the last couple of years, he and I have tried to perch fish a few times with zero luck. So, I went Saturday to try for some frog bites. I witched from a frog to a Zoom Uni-Toad and caught two decent bass in a short stretch. Because there were so many bait balls at the surface, I turned on Livescope to see if I could see bass chasing. I had no luck with that, but left it on as I worked my way down the grass. All of a sudden, I see what looks like a school of crappie. Turns out, it was. They were not on any wood at all, but just grouped up on the grass edge. They were way more aggressive than what I am used to fishing tops. I guess these were in hunt mode with all the shad around. I caught 18 out of that area then tried to bass fish some more. This may be a welcome break from Kincaid and Indian Creek.
Good job. Sounds like a fun and enjoyable trip.
