They worked fine for me. I held they tree up and tapped the rim of the buckets with a hammer and they came right off.

The bamboo is full of air. They sink slow and straight down. None of mine have fallen over yet. Not saying they won't if a strong current comes through. We'll seeSent from my SM-G973U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Awesome
Bamboo is my favorite to fish and produce. If you use the bigger stalks of bamboo be sure to drill a small hole top and bottom in the bigger cells to let the air out or they may float. Won my first tourney out of a stand of buckets not much different than yours.

Did not take your advice and up until now I haven't had any issues. Took another set of piles out yesterday to drop. Put one of the 12' trees out in 22' of water and it floated. 6" Of the tree top was showing. I had to pull the tree to the back of a cove and left it in 12' of water next to the bank. I'm sure it will still be there the next time I go out. I plan to take my drill with me and put some holes in the center stalk after pulling it out in deeper water. Bet I do this to all of my trees going forward. Lesson learned. Sent from my SM-G973U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
