Truly a little rod. Must be fun with about any fish. I’d like to set up a GoPro and see you catch a 10” largemouth on that rig. Hope you have fun with it. You’d have a blast in the south Florida canals with the cichlids and Oscar’s that live there.
Not a spinning combo , not BFS .
Its my Ultimate UL gill catching combo .
A 59, One weight Redington Butterstick fiberglass flyrod paired with a Redington Zero fly reel , loaded with a 3wt weight forward line .
Weighing in at 145.26g for the complete combo including line , leader , and tungsten bead streamer . A mere 5.12 ounces .
Thats less than most ultralight spinning reels .
I need to check my 6 St Croix Imperial fly rod with a Zero fly reel . It may be under 5 ounces being mostly graphite.
I plan on taking the Butterstick out tomorrow for a short forty five minute fishing trip while my wife has PT .
Such a super light wand that will bend into the handle with a five inch gill .
Hopefully pics tomorrow.
The bigger the Bend , the Wider the Grin !

Got to spend around thirty minutes this morning tossing a streamer and then a spider .
Caught nine . Most were small.
First fish was the best . And the other little guy was most colorful.

Those got the colors, don’t they? Glad it worked out and you didn’t have to go get a needle sharp hook pulled out.
