Hit the dock late yesterday afternoon, using Beaver Bottoms in several different colors. Five keepers, but the only one over 11" was a 13.5". Lost two bigger fish. The little guys started hitting at about 4' about 1/2 hour before sundown.
Nice report, looks like the kiddo had fun!

Hit it one more time before heading to St. Louis to watch a grandson play baseball, and to spend four days fishing at Truman Lake for crappie, hybrids, and slimy fish. Got 15 fish, seven keepers to 13 inches. Just above the brush, and swimming the jig back and forth. Used Mardi Gras beaver bottom and a dark gray/light gray jig. Gray jig got most of the fish. The first fish had a live minnow in its mouth, so I tipped a jig with the minnow and got two fish on it.

Made it home from five days of fishing at Truman Lake. We really killed 'em. So I had to get back to CB. They were really biting just above the brush. A purple/pink marabou jig, Cherry Mash Beaver Bottom, and Cajun Cricket accounted for about 45 fish. Kept 21, mostly 11.5" to 14 1/4". Most people didn't get very many, whether fishing jigs or minnows. Black/chartreuse tipped with crappie nibbles seemed to work best for those who did catch fish. Might hit Eufaula tomorrow with a buddy.
Hit it from 3:45 to 8:30. Lots of big fish caught. Kept 12 that were mostly 12"-13.5". A couple of other guys got some in the 15 inch range. Most of the big ones came in a 15 minute stretch, just above the brush. There were a few fish on the banks, but mostly dinks.
15" fish for LCB is a good fish. Glad to hear there are some bigger fish being caught. I can remember when catching a 13"-14" fish was a bigger fish and it didn't happen very often. Keep the good reports coming Bigsky. One of these days I will catch you out there or we can get something worked out to meet up out there.
