    Default Lacassine 3-27

Well I got to make a trip to Lacassine yesterday and managed to catch a few fish. They were not all what I went after but were fish just the same (I did say I was going FM style! LOL). Most fish were caught on either a blk/cht beetle spin with a curl tail or the ole reliable white beetle spin with a red dot. I did catch a few on blk/cht tube jigs pumped up with nibbles. Don't have a depth finder on this boat so don't know the depth but most were caught about 10 feet off the bank. Here are a few pictures.

Caught these and was coming in to bring my son to guitar lessons when my wife called and said she would bring him so I went back out.

Here is the end result. Caught 7 crappie all together but only 3 were big enough to keep.

Picture of the marsh were we bass fish.

Here is a picture of the canals we fish for the crappie and bream

Can anyone guess what kind of duck this is?

    Here is a clue.

One of the friends out there.

Dwyane, that duck is a dead duck if the alligator get him. Boy those are some nice gills. I'd like to give them a try one day. Nice catch, FM style is the only way to go.

Dwayne, that can't be FM style, cause there aren't any jacks or goos!! It looks like you had a good time! Got lots of things to talk to out there if the fish ain't biting!!

Hey Skipper, we don't have many jacks down here, I have only hooked one in all my years fishing these marshes and it broke my line! Not any goo in that marsh that I am aware of. Did catch a barfish that I threw back though. :D

Hey Joshua, you are right. It was a blue wing teal, it was the same one that was hiding in the picture with the gallinues.
As for the baits, I remember as far back as I can remember, throwing that ole white beetle spin with a red dot. The black/chrt. with a curl tail probably caught the bigger fish but it would tear up pretty easy and I would have to replace it after ever couple of fish.

In Louisiana, other than in certain lakes there is no size limit. We have such mild winters that the crappie reproduction rate is very high so that makes our limits a little more liberal.
