| SUNSET on the LAKE by - Patsy Jo Reed Sircy To view the SUNSET on the LAKE, I oft' endure a fishing trip; A bite of lunch is all I take, I pop a cork, and take a sip. The major motive, a grasp of beauty, My man just thinks I like to fish; I sip my wine, and do my duty, Live to grant his every wish! I ooh and aah, and save his image, In faded jeans, and that old cap; While the time 'til big ball's dimage, With Southern drawl of this and that. Last act opens, excitement reigns, My racing heart sees end of roll; A fish is on, one shot remains, I miss the sunset, LOVE takes it's toll! He smiles in slumber, recalls the trip, His favorite girl, he'll always take; LOVE replays my memory clip ....... , The view, the SUNSET on the LAKE !!! 24 May 2000 |
